The Red Colored Grey Truck

Belgrade, the summer of 1991. Yugoslavia is coming apart. Gavran cannot get a licence because he is colour blind, and he is obsessed with trucks; the moment he is out of prison he steals one and drives off. Suzana is a city girl, pregnant, waiting for a date for an abortion, and decides to go to Dubrovnik in the meantime. She is hitchhiking when Gavran nearly runs her down. She is unhurt, but she uses it to press him into driving her there. All the way along the road the country behind them is breaking up. Srđan Koljević directs the Serbian film; ninety-five minutes, with Srđan Todorović as Gavran and Aleksandra Balmazović as Suzana. It is Koljević's first feature. The truck's colour appears twice in the title because Gavran sees it grey and everybody else sees it red.
