What The Scandalous Lady W Is About
In 1781 Lady Seymour Worsley left her husband and eloped with his closest friend, Captain George Bisset. Sir Richard Worsley sued the friend and asked the court to price his wife in cash. The trial became the scandal of the country, because the defence established that Sir Richard had known about his wife's affairs and had arranged some of them himself. The jury awarded him damages of one shilling. Natalie Dormer's Seymour wins her freedom and loses her reputation entirely, and this television film does not hide what that cost.
