What The Secret of Happiness Is About
An evening among friends starts as a game and does not stay one. Tom keeps pushing his wife and his closest friend into situations that grow more absurd by the hour, determined to make them give up secrets they have kept carefully, and by the end the two of them have arrived at the same conclusion: the supply of happiness is finite, and one person’s share can only be paid for out of somebody else’s. It is an easy thing to understand and a hard thing to accept. Vlad Zamfirescu directs his first feature from a screenplay by Alexandru Popa and appears in it himself, in a cast of three with Theo Marton and Irina Velcescu, and the film opened in Romanian cinemas on 19 October 2018 after premiering in the Romanian Days section at Transilvania.
