What The Secret Partner Is About
John Brent, the owner of a shipping company, believes he has left behind the past in which he served time for embezzlement. When a dentist he knew in prison turns up and squeezes him with blackmail, the old file is opened again. In the same days a large sum goes missing from the company safe, and the first suspect anyone thinks of is the man with a record. To clear himself Brent has to stay a step ahead of the police and find the real thief. Basil Dearden builds the story on an arrangement in which who owes what to whom stays unclear to the end. Stewart Granger, Haya Harareet and Bernard Lee appear in the ninety one minute British film, completed in 1961.
