What The Seventh Brother Is About
A puppy left in the woods by his owners comes across a family of rabbits and joins them as a seventh sibling. Being accepted is not simple: the rabbits are wary of a dog and the dog has no idea how to live like a rabbit. Directed by Jozsef Gemes and Jeno Koltai, this Hungarian animation works through abandonment and the family you find rather than the one you are born into, with songs along the way. Seventy five minutes aimed at children that does not hide the hard part: what it actually means to leave an animal outside a door.
