When her father’s business fails, Yeon-ee, a city girl, moves to the countryside to live with her great grandparents. There she slowly becomes friends with Seok-ee, a country boy from the neighbouring farm; neither of them knows anything of the other’s world. One day they walk a long way to a nearby mountain and are caught in a sudden downpour. That rain becomes the moment that decides everything between them. The film tells a friendship between children and the first stirrings of feeling without inflating them, inside the passing of the seasons. It was adapted from a very well known Korean short story. Go Yeong-nam’s hundred minute Korean film was completed in 1979.
