Luciano Virgilio A Azzurra Antonacci What The Sky Is Falling Is About
An estate north of Florence in 1943. Penny, about ten, is an orphan and moves with her little sister into the house of her aunt and uncle. Penny is Catholic and worries about her uncle’s soul; he is Jewish, progressive and free thinking, a fair employer and devoted to his family. Because he can be stern, the child also fears that she will never please him and will not be loved. When the Allies land in Sicily and the Germans begin to withdraw, the fear turns into something else: now her uncle’s life is in danger. Isabella Rossellini appears in the hundred and two minute Italian film by Andrea and Antonio Frazzi, completed in 2000.
