What The Traitors Is About
At the centre of the film is a union leader. The man is invented but the story rests on real events. He joins the Peronist movement while young. For years he works inside the organisation. In the sixties he gains a say in the union. As he rises the people around him change. He builds close ties with the employers. He drifts away from the workers on the floor. Decisions are now taken elsewhere. In time he turns into a plain bureaucrat. The account shows that turn step by step. Victor Proncet and Raul Fraire take the leads, with Lautaro Murua and Luis Politti also in the cast, in Raymundo Gleyzer’s Argentine film of 1973.
