The Walls Came Tumbling Down

Gilbert Archer writes a gossip column about Broadway. His work is the business of show news. One day a close friend of his is found dead. The explanation on offer does not satisfy Archer. He starts looking into it himself. The traces lead him somewhere he did not expect. There is a valuable Da Vinci painting in the middle of it. The death of his friend is tied to that painting. Other people are after the painting as well. For them it comes before everything else. Every step Archer takes brings him nearer the danger. Patricia Foster is drawn into the business too. Both of them become targets. The story moves along as a mystery. Lee Bowman and Marguerite Chapman appear in the eighty two minute film, an American production Lothar Mendes finished in 1946.
