What The White World According to Daliborek Is About
The documentary follows an industrial painter approaching forty. He is keen on making horror films, writes angry songs and openly holds neo Nazi views; he still lives with his mother. He hates his job, hates Roma people, Jews, refugees and homosexuals, and hates his life without knowing how to change it. The film opens no space of debate for his views and does not present them as opinions to be defended; it looks at how hatred becomes a daily habit. The account does not build him up into a frightening figure either. That choice is the most argued over aspect of the film. Vit Klusak’s hundred and five minute Czech documentary was completed in 2017.
