The Woman of My Dreams

Julia Köster is a revue star. She performs big numbers on stage. She has had enough of life at the theatre. One night she walks out of it all. She gets on a train. The train takes her to the mountains. There she comes across two engineers. They find her and take her in. She spends some days far from the life of the city. Her stage life is set against those days in the mountains. It was made as a musical comedy. Shooting in colour was expensive work at the time. The production was reckoned among the costliest colour revue pictures in Europe. It opened in 1944. German cities were being bombed while it was in cinemas. Shows of this kind offered audiences a short escape. Marika Rökk and Grethe Weiser appear in the ninety three minute film, a German production Georg Jacoby finished in 1944.
