The Wrong Guy

The Wrong Guy, directed by David Steinberg, was written by Dave Foley, David Anthony Higgins, and Jay Kogen, growing out of a sketch from Foley's time on The Kids in the Hall. The film follows an office worker who, after threatening to kill his boss for passing him over for promotion, flees to Mexico when the boss turns up dead. It was poorly received both domestically and internationally when it first came out in 1997, going straight to video in the US. Years later, The Globe and Mail declared it the best Canadian comedy ever made; despite being nearly impossible to watch through legal means today, the film has gained a cult following for its absurdist humor.
