What The Zero Hour Is About
La Parca is a feared hitman. When Ladydi, the woman he loves, needs urgent surgery, he takes over a private clinic and holds the people inside. The police gather outside, the television cameras arrive shortly afterwards, and almost overnight he is being called a national hero. Inside, saving her and getting out are both becoming less possible by the hour. Diego Velasco's Venezuelan film turns a hostage thriller into a story about who gets treated and who gets covered: the health system on one side, the media on the other. Zapata 666 plays La Parca, and as the clock runs down what comes at him is mostly his own past.
