Themroc

Themroc is a factory worker who lives with his mother and whose life has no colour in it. After an incident with his boss he drops the whole arrangement. He knocks out the wall of his flat, destroys his possessions, stops going to work and starts living in the middle of the city like a caveman. Before long the condition spreads to the neighbours. There is not one intelligible line in Claude Faraldo's film; the entire thing proceeds in grunts and gibberish. It is built as a direct assault on bourgeois life and observes no limits in its provocation, including the relationship he begins with his sister. Michel Piccoli plays the exact opposite of the polished roles he was known for.
