What Thirst Is About
Kostya came back from the war in Chechnya. His face was badly burned there. Since that day he has shut himself into the house. He does not want to be seen. He has put distance between himself and his family and friends. He takes refuge in drink. Three friends came back from the same war. One has gone into crime and one has held on to sport. One day an old comrade of theirs disappears. That man once pulled all of them out of a burning vehicle. The three set out to look for him. The road brings Kostya outside again. Along the way he meets Olga. Her five year old son Nikita looks at his face differently. For the child there is nothing strange there. The film was adapted from a novel by Andrei Gelasimov. Mikhail Grubov and Roman Kurtsyn appear in the hundred and two minute film, a Russian production Dmitry Tyurin finished in 2013.
