What This Is Sodom Is About
Sodom is about to be destroyed and Lot is the only man in it judged worth saving. Adam Sanderson's 2010 film takes that familiar story and turns it into a cabaret sketch: anachronisms, references to current politics, and jokes cutting in constantly. The cast comes from a well known Israeli television comedy troupe and the playing style comes with them. The film is not arguing with belief; it is working on how a sacred story gets told and what it gets used for now. It caused an argument anyway when it opened. Most of its humour rests on local reference, which makes it hard to export.
