What Three Plus Two Is About
Three friends set off, as they do every year, to camp in an empty cove on the Black Sea coast. When they get there, they find the spot taken: two young women have pitched a tent on it. Neither side will give ground, and the cove is divided in two. Over the following days the stubbornness turns into something else. Genrikh Oganisyan's film was among the most-watched Soviet comedies of the sixties and one of Andrei Mironov's earliest. Light, sunlit and built entirely on the feeling of a holiday, with a looseness Soviet cinema did not often allow itself.
