Tiger Theory

Jan, a sixty year old vet, is worn down by the way his wife Olga organises his life, lovingly and without a pause. The death of his father in law sets him going: that man too lived his whole life inside the same arrangement and was used up by it in the end. To make room for himself Jan starts pretending he has Alzheimer’s; as a result he loses his job and ends up in an institution, and finds his own way out of that too. Alongside this the lives of his daughters and sons in law are followed in parallel, and it becomes visible how the same arrangement is being built in the next generation. Jiri Bartoska and Eliska Balzerova appear in Radek Bajgar’s hundred and seven minute Czech film, completed in 2016.
