Hector is looking from his garden toward the woods when he sees a woman undressing. He goes to look and a man wrapped in bandages stabs him. Taking shelter in a nearby facility, he is sent an hour back in time by an experimental device. What follows is three separate Hectors colliding with each other. It is Nacho Vigalondo's first feature; he wrote it, directed it and plays the scientist. Karra Elejalde plays Hector. The budget was 2.6 million dollars with almost no effects. It premiered at Fantastic Fest in Texas on 20 September 2007 and won Best Picture there. Critics praised Vigalondo's ability to create suspense from the thinnest of air. Rotten Tomatoes sits at 90 percent. Eugenio Mira wrote the score, and the film uses Blondie's Picture This.
