To Let

The year is 2007 and the city is changing fast. Ilango works as an assistant director in films. He rents a flat with his wife Amudha and their five year old son. The landlady wants them out. The reason is plain, there are tenants who will pay more. The family is given thirty days. The three of them start looking for a place. It is as though no affordable flat is left in the city. Rents have climbed along with the technology sector. At every door a different question comes. What is his job, what is his caste, what do they eat. Each time the family is ruled out. The film tells this patiently and without raising its voice. Santhosh Nambirajan and Sheela Rajkumar appear in the ninety nine minute film, an Indian production Chezhiyan finished in 2019.
