To Realize

A young man is badly hurt in a road accident and goes into a coma. His family gives up hope. The doctor looking after him does not; he believes the patient will wake and puts everything he has into it. But the doctor's own life is close to falling apart. Without noticing it, the two of them begin holding each other up. Alejandro Doria's Argentine film uses a hospital corridor to put a moral question: at what point is a life over enough to let go of. Darío Grandinetti, Luis Brandoni and China Zorrilla are in the cast. The telling promises no miracle and blames nobody; it grants the family that gave up hope their case as well. The tone is heavy and the pace slow.
