What Traffic Is About

In Pune the daughter of a famous actor is gravely ill and needs a heart transplant at once. In Mumbai the family of a young trainee journalist, brain dead after a road accident, agree to donate his organs, but the rain makes flying impossible; the heart has to cross the hundred and fifty kilometres between the two cities by road, within a few hours. A traffic policeman who was suspended for taking a bribe and has only just returned to duty takes the job on. The film tells the journey together with the private reckoning of everyone caught up in it. Rajesh Pillai’s hundred and four minute Indian film was inspired by something that really happened in Chennai in 2008; Manoj Bajpayee appears.
