U Turn

On a flyover in the city, drivers lift the stones from the central median to make a turn and do not put them back. Accidents follow and people die. Rachana, an intern journalist, decides to report on it and collects the number plates of drivers who break the rule. Then she notices that those drivers are dying one by one. The police detain her as a suspect, and from that moment she is inside something she cannot explain. Pawan Kumar's film is a remake of his own 2016 Kannada film; he directed both, and this version was made simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu. The narrative moves between crime story and the supernatural and puts something as ordinary as a traffic rule at the centre of the matter. Samantha Ruth Prabhu plays Rachana and Aadhi Pinisetty plays the policeman. Who it's for: Viewers who like Indian thrillers, crime stories with supernatural elements, and narratives built on a single idea. Who it's not for: Nothing surprises anyone who has seen the original. The explanatory section also lowers the tension.
