What Unforgettable Is About
Perci Intalan's 2019 Filipino film follows a woman travelling to Baguio for her ailing mother. Her dog comes with her; the dog once saved her mother. Along the way, the woman's relationships with the people around her move to the centre. The film does not present her as someone to be pitied; the narrative takes up the different forms love takes and does not resolve the mother's condition. Sarah Geronimo leads, with Gina Pareño as the mother. The tone is emotional and the music heavy. Who it's for: those who like Filipino drama. Who it's not for: viewers for whom illness and caregiving would be difficult.
