The 2022 Indian film by Jaspal Singh Sandhu and Rajeev Barnwal follows Shambhunath, a retired teacher in Gwalior, whose harassment over a debt to a moneylender ends in a killing. He does not plan it; afterwards he has to plan what to do with the body. The tension comes from there: the viewer is held with the killer, hoping he is not caught. The story builds the helplessness of middle-class old age in detail: the son abroad, a pension that does not stretch, nobody helping. The balance between Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta carries it. The moral ground of the plot is contestable and the film does not question it. Who it's for: viewers who like Indian thrillers and small-scale crime drama. Who it's not for: anyone avoiding content involving violence and harassment, or wanting a morally clear conclusion.
