The documentary tells the life and thought of Hannah Arendt, the German Jewish political philosopher. Having fled Nazi Germany and settled in America, Arendt covered the trial of Adolf Eichmann held in Israel in 1961 for the New Yorker, and in the book she published in 1963 put forward the idea of the banality of evil; the phrase caused great argument and met with anger in her own circle as well. The film gives that argument together with Arendt’s letters, archive footage and the accounts of people who knew her or have worked on her. Ada Ushpiz’s hundred and twenty eight minute documentary was completed in 2015 and follows a life that ran from 1906 to 1975.
