Vizontele Tuuba

The sequel to Vizontele of 2001. Summer 1980, a remote town in south-eastern Turkey. Güner Sernikli is a civil servant sent there as a kind of exile: appointed head librarian to a town with no library. He arrives with his wife and his daughter Tuba, who uses a wheelchair. The town welcomes them warmly, but the country is inside political violence and the young are dividing into camps. Yılmaz Erdoğan wrote, directed and acts in it; the story comes out of the last summer of his own childhood. It begins as comedy and arrives somewhere very painful.
