What Vizontele Is About
A small town in Hakkari at the start of the seventies. Its great entertainment is the open air cinema, and every evening the whole town goes. Then a television set is sent from Ankara, and while Emin, the local man they call mad who can fix anything, and the mayor try to make the thing work, the cinema owner realises his living is about to disappear. The television brings the town not only pictures but the world outside. Yılmaz Erdoğan’s film opens in laughter and ends somewhere else entirely. Erdoğan, Demet Akbağ, Altan Erkekli and Cem Yılmaz are in the cast.
