Vukovar Poste Restante

Ana and Toma are two young people living in Vukovar. Ana is Croat and Toma is Serb. They marry on the eve of the war. On the wedding day there are marching columns in the city. The celebration breaks up before it reaches the reception. The guests scatter. Afterwards the neighbours write slogans on the walls of the bride’s family home. People who lived together for years reject one another. Toma is taken into the army. Husband and wife are separated by it. As the war goes on, the city is destroyed. It is not only two people who are split apart. The home, the city and the country come apart together. The film tells the events from the Serbian point of view. Where the account itself stands is not hidden. Mirjana Joković and Boris Isaković appear in the ninety six minute film, an Italian, American and Yugoslav co-production Boro Drašković finished in 1994.
