What War Live Is About
Belgrade, 1999. Sergei is a film producer and he and his crew are in a bad way. The film they are making is under threat: there is no money and the crew are unhappy. On top of that the NATO bombing is about to start. Mileta, from the state security service, comes looking for Harvey, the American coproducer. Once the bombing begins Sergei hides Harvey, thinking arrest is waiting for him. That night he works out a plan. He announces that shooting has begun on a new, patriotic film. Harvey is to play the lead. The plan works: the state backs the film and Mileta joins the crew as its representative. At the first screening the tension between Mileta and Sergei breaks open, and Mileta accuses them of being artists rather than patriots. Dragan Bjelogrlić is in the lead of Darko Bajić’s Yugoslav film of 2000.
