What Wedding Doll Is About
A young woman is caught up in romantic imaginings. She has a mild intellectual disability, but she is set on making her own decisions. She begins a relationship. Her mother meets this with worry; used to protecting her daughter, she does not know what to do. The film tells the relationship from the daughter’s side without dismissing the mother’s fear. An adult having a say over her own life is the real subject. It does not use the disability as material for tragedy. The relation between mother and daughter stands at the centre of the story.
