What Wedding in White Is About
In Canada during the Second World War, sixteen year old Jeanie’s older brother comes home on leave from the base and brings a friend with him. After a night of drinking that friend rapes her; the two soldiers go back, and the girl finds she is pregnant. Her parents blame not the soldier but her, and look for a quick way to cover the shame; the whole order of the house is arranged around keeping her quiet.
