What What a Feeling Is About
Kat Rohrer's 2024 Austrian film follows two women in Vienna. Marie Theres's marriage falls apart in a day; Fa is of Iranian background and keeps her distance from her own family. The two meet in a bar. The film builds the relationship as a love that begins late; the narrative brings in both the difference in class and the reactions the two women meet from those around them. Caroline Peters and Proschat Madani lead. The tone is close to comedy without making light of what it handles. The close offers no easy solution. Who it's for: those who like European romantic comedy and love stories that begin late. Who it's not for: viewers expecting young romance; this one takes place in middle age.
