Sixteen year old Nisha lives two lives in Norway: the perfect Pakistani daughter at home, an ordinary Norwegian teenager outside it. When her father catches her with her boyfriend the two collide hard, and to make an example of her the family takes her to relatives in Pakistan. In a country she has never lived in, she has to submit to rules she has never known. Iram Haq draws on her own experience and presents the family not as villains but as people acting out of fear of what others will say.
