Whisper of Sin

A young woman goes to see a psychotherapist. She is in love with a priest, and that relation has shaken her own life loose. The diagnosis given to her husband leaves no hope either. In time the therapist begins to resemble her patient in what she lives through and in how she behaves. The film runs the stories of the two women inside one another. The screenplay draws on motifs from a best selling novel by Jurga Ivanauskaitė. The book had caused argument for putting a priest at the centre of a love story. The account passes judgement on nobody; it leaves its view with the two women. Rasa Samuolytė and Aleksas Kazanavičius appear in Algimantas Puipa’s ninety eight minute Lithuanian film, completed in 2007.
