White, White World

The film is set in a mining town called Bor. The town is worn down and still. King runs a bar there. One day he meets a young woman named Rosa. Before long the two of them are in a relationship. Then Rosa’s mother Ruzika comes out of prison. Ruzika does not approve of it. Meanwhile King begins to have feelings for Ruzika as well. What holds among the three of them goes somewhere dangerous. The account is shaped like a modern tragedy. The people in the film sing. But they never dance. The songs are given without choreography and without ornament. Uliks Fehmiu and Hana Selimović take the leads, with Jasna Đuričić and Nebojša Glogovac also in the cast, in Oleg Novković’s Serbian, Swedish and German coproduction of 2010.
