Who Killed Pasolini?

On 2 November 1975 Pier Paolo Pasolini is found dead at Ostia, on the coast outside Rome. The suspect arrested is a seventeen-year-old who says he acted in self-defence. His account does not hold: there is far too much detail suggesting he could not have done it alone. The film follows the trial, the investigation and the way the newspapers wrote about Pasolini all at once. Marco Tullio Giordana made the film in 1995. The case was reopened afterwards: in 2005 Pino Pelosi, who had been convicted, withdrew his statement and said Pasolini had been beaten to death by a group, and that he had confessed because his family was threatened. A fresh investigation was shelved without result in 2015. The killing is still argued over.
