Wild Session

The documentary is about Spanish exploitation cinema from the sixties into the eighties. Made on low budgets and watched by wide audiences, these films followed whatever genre was in fashion. Westerns, horror pictures, erotic comedies and thrillers about petty criminals are taken up in turn. The account does not look down on this work; it looks at the conditions it was made in and at what it answered to. The effect of censorship and of a changing period on that cinema stands inside the account. Directors and actors of those years speak in their own words. Álex de la Iglesia and Simón Andreu are among those speaking. The eighty five minute film by Paco Limón and Julio César Sánchez, a joint Mexican and Spanish production, was completed in 2019.
