What Wings of Fame Is About
The writer Brian Smith shoots Cesar Valentin, a famous actor who has claimed authorship of Smith's book, in front of hundreds of fans, and dies himself in the scramble that follows. The two of them wake up in a luxury hotel on the other side, occupied entirely by dead celebrities. The house rule is simple: the better you are remembered on earth, the better your room and the longer your stay, and the forgotten are quietly erased. Otakar Votoček tells the fragility of fame through a reception desk. Peter O'Toole and Colin Firth face off in a fantasy that is as sad as it is mocking.
