Wolfs

Wolfs (2024) begins in a New York hotel room. A prominent woman wakes with a body on the floor and calls a fixer. He has barely arrived when a second fixer appears at the door, called by someone else in the room. Both insist they work alone, and they have to work together for the night. The whole idea is that neither man can stand the other. They do the same job the same way, and the resemblance is unbearable. Neither character is named. Jon Watts wrote and directed. He had made the three Tom Holland Spider-Man films, and this was his first project after them. George Clooney and Brad Pitt star, together again after Ocean's and Burn After Reading. Its distribution caused an argument. Apple had announced a wide theatrical release and then reversed, giving it a limited run before Apple TV+. Clooney objected publicly to the change. It runs 108 minutes. Good for: two hander chemistry, crime comedy over one night, and Clooney and Pitt. Less good for: the plot is thin and the film leans almost entirely on the charm of its leads. The middle sags and the ending is left open for a sequel. There is barely any room for women in it.
