Yara

Yara lives in a valley. It lies in the north of Lebanon and is called the Kadisha. The only person with her is her grandmother. The valley has nearly emptied out. Some of those who lived there have died. The rest have gone abroad. A few houses are left. Their house stands on the side of a cliff. Yara spends her days at work. She looks after the animals and works the land. One day someone comes into the valley. The one who comes is a young stranger. His name is Elias and he is out hiking in the mountains. The two of them meet and talk. The quiet of the valley is broken a little. Michelle Wehbe and Elias Freifer take the leads in the hundred and one minute film that Abbas Fahdel made as a French, Iraqi and Lebanese coproduction in 2018.
