Yesterday Once More

Lin Tianjiao is the best student in her school, and during one exam she quietly copies from a note; Gao Xiang, the boy the class treats as a troublemaker, sees her do it. When the teacher finds the note, Gao Xiang says it was his, and the girl, feeling that she owes him something, begins a friendship with him. At the same time Lin Tianjiao’s close friend Lu Tiantian is chasing Ou Xiaoyang, whom Lin Tianjiao refuses to take seriously because his marks are poor. Their classmate Huang Tao is quietly in love with Lin Tianjiao and too shy to say so, which keeps him and his best friend Li Tao at odds with Gao Xiang. The film comes out of the run of high school stories Chinese cinema has been making for years, and it takes apart the split between the good student and the bad one from inside the classroom. Yao Tingting’s hundred and eight minute film was completed in 2016.
