You Are My Only Love

Saint Petersburg in the early nineties. Yevgeny is a former boxer, now a modest engineer, working evenings as a loader at a grocery store to keep the household going. His wife Natasha is a sexologist, they have a daughter, the flat is cramped. His elderly father begs in the metro and has somehow not lost his good humour. Then Anna, who was in love with him when she was a girl, comes back, having become a successful businesswoman in America. Around the same time Yevgeny's design bureau announces a joint venture with an American firm and everyone starts angling for the few places. Dmitry Astrakhan's film is less a love triangle than a man after the Soviet Union not knowing which shore he belongs to.
