Youth

Praveen is fifteen and determined to find true love before school ends. He treats the decision like serious work; he makes plans, does research and takes advice from his friends. A relationship begins and ends. Then another. Each time he thinks this is the one and each time he is wrong. At home his father Unnikrishnan does not understand what his son is occupied with and has rules of his own. As Praveen goes on, his idea of what love is changes, and school ends too. Ken Karunas writes and directs; it is his first film as director and he plays the lead. Suraj Venjaramoodu, Devadarshini and Anishma Anilkumar are in the cast. The language is Tamil. G. V. Prakash Kumar wrote the music; Viki is the cinematographer. It opened on 19 March 2026 and took a strong result at the box office. Its humour is built on repetition rather than exaggeration; the same mistake is made again in every relationship and the film shows it as a pattern. The father is the second axis and Suraj Venjaramoodu's sections are what is most cited. The narrative does not romanticise adolescence; the character is often in the wrong and the film does not try to correct him. Its limit is structure; the episodes resemble one another and the sense of repetition is strong in the middle. Who it is for: viewers who like Tamil comedy about the young and stories of first love. Who it is not for: it repeats, runs long, and the shape is familiar.
