What Zapatlela Is About
Inspector Mahesh is after the leader of a gang. The encounter ends with the man dead. But it does not end there. The dead man’s spirit passes into a doll nearby. The doll looks like an ordinary toy. After a while it changes hands. It is given as a present to a man who works with puppets. His life had been orderly and quiet. Once the doll is in the house everything changes. Strange things start happening around him. Nobody believes him. Inspector Mahesh is drawn into the affair as well. The story runs horror and comedy together. The doll stands at the centre of everything. Dilip Prabhavalkar and Laxmikant Berde appear in the hundred and fifty minute film, an Indian production Mahesh Kothare finished in 1993.
