What The Rich One's Kitchen Is About
Lutfu is the cook in the mansion of the wealthy Kerim and rarely looks beyond his kitchen; his only concern is to please his employer. But as the workers’ movement of the period changes the people around him, his own life is shaken too. First a hunting dog is brought into the house, and the man is uneasy at having to wait on a dog. Then Selim, the fiance of the maid who works there, changes, and every balance in the kitchen is upset. As time passes Lutfu has to weigh his own thinking again. The film tells the matter with black humour. Sener Sen plays the lead in Basar Sabuncu’s seventy six minute Turkish film, completed in 1988.
