I'm Gonna Git You Sucka

Jack Spade comes back to the neighbourhood after learning his brother died of a gold chain overdose and wants to settle it. He gathers the legendary heroes of the seventies to help, but all of them have aged and none is what he was. In his first film Keenen Ivory Wayans turns blaxploitation into parody from end to end, taking the clichés, the costumes, the music and the slow-motion walks one at a time. The real names of the genre are in the cast: Jim Brown, Isaac Hayes and Bernie Casey playing caricatures of their own pasts. The story is loose and proceeds scene by scene; some jokes do not land, and the ones that do entered the genre's memory. It is the starting point of every later Wayans parody. Who it is for: viewers who like parody comedy and know blaxploitation. Who it is not for: anyone unfamiliar with the genre, since the targets stay invisible.
