Jesse Eisenberg played the founder of Facebook in David Fincher's The Social Network and was an Academy nominee in the lead actor category for it. His second feature as a director, A Real Pain, he wrote, directed and acted in; he built the story after seeing an internet advertisement that read Holocaust tours, lunch included. Two cousins travel to Poland to see the town their grandmother lived in before she fled the Nazis in 1939. Eisenberg plays David, who keeps his feelings down, and Kieran Culkin plays Benji, whose oily charm goes nowhere. What the film is after is neither the Holocaust itself nor its legacy, but the inadequacy of the answer we give it today. The screenplay drew an Academy nomination and Culkin won the supporting actor award. That screenplay carried the Independent Spirit category of its own name as well, and at the institution's 2006 ceremony his part in The Squid and the Whale was up for supporting actor. He played in Now You See Me and The Squid and the Whale.
