What Roger Dodger Is About
Roger, an advertising man in Manhattan, credits his success with women to managing their emotions from the first moment, and explains it as though it were a system. When his virgin nephew turns up unannounced one night, Roger sets about teaching him that system, and as the night wears on it becomes clear the student is steadier than the teacher, who does not believe his own material. Dylan Kidd builds the film almost entirely out of dialogue and a handheld camera. Campbell Scott and Jesse Eisenberg play off each other.
