Leslie Odom Jr.

In Film Independent's forty-one-year Spirit list the Robert Altman Award of the 2021 ceremony is written to One Night in Miami..., and the item names its recipients: Regina King as director, the casting director, and an ensemble of four performers. Leslie Odom Jr. is one of those four, so the award reaches him through the cast rather than on his own; since the category holds exactly one item in every year, that item is a win and not a nomination. His four entries all have him on screen, the furthest back being Harriet of 2019. The votes concentrate elsewhere than the award film, on Rian Johnson's Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, 6,878 against 699.
